VIETNAM PHOTO GALLERY

Hello! I’m Phuong, an independent photographer based in Hanoi, Vietnam.

I was born in a small village in Central Vietnam, embraced by two branches of the Thu Bồn River, just before it reaches the sea at Hoi An. My hometown often experiences flooding during the rainy season. As a child, I traveled by boat between my grandmother’s and grandfather’s homes, drifting through a landscape of quiet beauty. I walked to school along muddy paths, surrounded by sounds and sights that deeply shaped my connection to the land. Nearly thirty years ago, people in my village still grew mulberry tree, harvested their leaves, and raised silkworms for silk. Children gathered after school to play traditional folk games like hide-and-seek, skipping rope.

Those early experiences cultivated a profound love for Vietnam.

As I grew older, I witnessed these rhythms of life gradually fade as the country changed. This sense of loss, alongside admiration for Vietnam’s resilience, inspired me to travel and document the nation’s rich cultural diversity. Driven by a deep passion for Vietnam and visual storytelling, I have lived in all three regions of the country and journeyed through nearly every province. My work has been featured in various media outlets, focusing on the relationship between people, place, and cultural heritage.

Furthermore, I love connecting travelers, photographers, and culture enthusiasts with an authentic Vietnam. Currently, I organize photography tours and workshops in Hanoi, helping participants create compelling images while gaining meaningful insights into Vietnamese culture and a strong sense of place.

I am available for editorial and commercial assignments. My work centers on travel and tourism, art and culture, heritage, lifestyle, sustainable development, and education, with priority given to projects aligned with these values.
